Its complications is the other that kills you and the most lethal complication of them all is heart disease. Some fish once a week would cut down your risk for heart disease by 40 percent already. The secret is the fish s fatty acids that reduce inflammation in the body, insulin resistance, and, of course, the risk of diabetes.

Don t be put off by the coarseness as it is the key to slow-digestion. The coarser the bread, the better. Smear some peanut butter on a few pieces and you have one diabetes-reversing snack. 

Oatmeal: the real best breakfast?
